JOHNS CREEK, Ga. — A man reported Jan. 27 that his former employee had been making fraudulent charges using the company’s customers.

The man told police that he found out that an ex-employee had been falsely charging customers at the LA Fitness on Medlock Bridge Road for training sessions. The employee had allegedly set up a Square Up account labeled as LA Fitness, but the funds would go solely to the employee.

Two customers had informed the man about the employee’s fraudulent transactions, which totaled $400, after he had already been fired Jan. 17.

The man had fired the employee earlier when he was caught trying to sell “excess” fitness equipment on Craig’s List. A lot of equipment had gone missing during the employee’s time at LA Fitness, the owner said.

According to the man, the employee had worked at multiple LA Fitness locations across the Atlanta area.
