Gov. Deal calls special election to fill Price’s seat

ATLANTA – On the heels of Secretary Tom Price’s confirmation today as the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services, Gov. Nathan Deal has called for a special election to fill the seat of the sixth Congressional District. Qualifying begins Monday, Feb. 13 and ends Wednesday, Feb. 15.

The special election will be held April 18. If no candidate receives more than 50 percent of the vote from the April 18 election, a runoff election will be held June 20.
