MILTON, Ga. — Cambridge girls lacrosse outlasted defending state champions Walton 11-10 in overtime on Saturday to clinch a berth in the semifinals.
The Lady Bears (17-6) return to the semifinals for the third straight year and first in Class 6A-7A.
Cambridge led 9-6 at the half, but Walton (14-8) clawed back to tie the game at 10-10 and force overtime. The Lady Bears would ultimately prevail, winning 11-10 on a goal from Abby Edmisten to set up a semifinals berth against Lambert this Wednesday.
The Lady Bears will again play at home.
Lambert and Cambridge will square-off for the second time this season in the semifinals, with Cambridge winning 8-4 over the Lady Longhorns on March 9. Cambridge is 3-0 all-time against Lambert.
