MILTON, Ga. — A Cambridge graduate and teacher were honored by Stanford University last week, each earning prestigious awards.
Matthew Hirschland, a 2014 graduate of Cambridge, was awarded the Stanford University Sterling Award, given to the top-25 graduates of Stanford.
With Hirschland winning the award, he named Cambridge teacher Thomas Washburn, Ph. D, as the recipient of the Sterling Award for Academic Achievement. Hirschland nominated Washburn for the award for being the teacher that had the greatest influence on his education.
