ROSWELL, Ga. — Centennial High School has announced that three of its students have earned the highest achievement in Girl Scouting this year.

Abigail Harden, Kara Gibson and Michelle Manganiello have all dedicated countless hours of work to earn their Gold Awards.

The Gold Award is open only to high school students and requires recipients to create a sustainable and measurable “Take Action Project.” On average, these projects take one to two years to complete.

The goal of these projects is to provide meaningful, long-term solutions for local and global communities. Each awardee was asked to design, plan, implement, and evaluate their project based on an issue that spoke to them.

For her Gold Award project, Michelle Manganiello donated 300 books to Esther Jackson Elementary School and created a ‘reading nook’ consisting of a bookshelf, a bench and a ‘Michelle’s Book Nook’ sign. She also created a reading program for high school students to read the donated books to elementary school students during after school care.
