FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga.— Northside Hospital Cancer Institute hosts skin cancer screenings during the summer to help people understand their risk for developing skin cancer.

Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the United States. Most cases of melanoma, the deadliest kind of skin cancer, are caused by exposure to ultraviolet light. Melanoma spreads rapidly and can be life-threatening if untreated.

From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 29, Northside Hospital Forsyth, 1100 Northside Forsyth Drive, Suite 140 in Cumming will hold a free skin cancer screening. Northside’s skin cancer screening should not replace a complete skin exam with a skin specialist.

Appointments are required. To make an appointment, call 404-531-4444.
