Letter to the editor:

Public safety notice doesn’t tell full story

I was very disappointed to read your public safety notice entitled “Prohibited archery kills deer,” in the Dec. 28th edition of the Milton Herald. The notice has a very slanted tone to the title, as does the content of the article.

It appears as though the hunter has done something illegal and dangerous. There is no context from the hunter’s point of view nor any mention of the distinction between a bow and a firearm. A licensed hunter is allowed to legally hunt his own property, or any other property where he/ she has written permission, in the state of Georgia.

Responsible and objective reporting would include a more complete picture about the incident. I would hope you would print something to correct this error.
