(Roswell, GA November 13, 2017) The Georgia Independent Schools Association (GISA) honored Cottage School teachers, Jennifer Sudbury, High School Science Instructor, and Lynn Bosworth, Middle School Reading Specialist, as GISA’s Teachers of the Year.

GISA invites schools to nominate up to three Teacher of the Year candidates. Letters of recommendation are submitted from the schools and the nominees write an essay on “What Teaching Means to Me”. TCS Head of School, Dr. Steven Palmer, said “Jennifer implements one-on-one tutoring, current technology, traditional teaching methods, and methods outside the traditional teaching role to present facts and create an environment that accommodates a variety of learning styles. She also has served as the school’s Senior Sponsor for four years, guiding them through their last year of high school”. Palmer says of Lynn, “Lynn left the business world because ‘it was just a job’. After teaching in public schools, Lynn found TCS and developed a reading program utilizing strategies from multiple reading programs in order to meet each student’s individual needs. She is not only an accomplished teacher, she’s an inspired mentor. Both of these educators deserve this recognition”.
